The Rylstone Kandos region, located just 3 hours drive from Sydney on the western edge of the Blue Mountains, is one of those rare, uncrowded places that combines old-fashioned friendliness and genuine charm with good modern food, great places to stay, and breathtaking scenery.

Landing

Whether you enjoy bushwalking, fishing, canoeing, photography or birdwatching, would like to explore some history, visit a winery, sample some local products, experience a small town event or just enjoy a great cup of coffee … Our area is too good to miss.

The area sits astride the Great Dividing Range and is the gateway to the World Heritage Wollemi National Park, the stunning Capertee Valley, and the deeply carved upper valleys of the Goulburn/Hunter river systems.

While Kandos & Rylstone are small towns and this is part of their appeal, you will be spoilt for accommodation choices with just over 300 beds available in the region – no excuse not to make a weekend of it, or even a week! There are plenty of activities and we are central to the larger towns of Mudgee, Lithgow and Bathurst which are only 40 to 60 minutes away. The fully sealed Bylong Valley Way is now a comfortable, scenic link to the Hunter Valley.

Apart from the towns of Kandos and Rylstone, our area includes the villages and localities of Running Stream, Turon, Ilford, Charbon, Clandulla, Brogan’s Creek, Olinda, Nullo Mountain, Kelgoola, Bogee, Glen Alice, Glen Davis, Lue and Bylong.
