Travelling by car, the Rylstone Kandos district is three hours from Sydney and Newcastle. We’re an hour from Lithgow, two hours from the Hunter Valley, just over an hour from Bathurst and 40 minutes from Mudgee. The fully sealed Bylong Valley Way is now a comfortable, scenic link from the Hunter Valley and Central Coast, and is suitable for caravans. You can take the M4 from the west and south of Sydney along Parramatta rd, then the M4, that will take you through the spectacular Blue Mountains to Lithgow. Soon after Lithgow, turn left onto the Castlereagh Hwy towards Mudgee. After 64kms, turn right at Bylong Valley Way, continue down Bylong Valley way for 17kms and you will be in Kandos, another 7kms will get you to Rylstone.
From Sydneys North and North West, you can take the M2 to Richmond and go via the Bells Line of rd which is a beautiful drive through the mountains and picturesque Bilpin with its famous apples and The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mount Tomah.
If you are in no rush and enjoy the road less travelled, you can also turn right at Capertee and go via Glen Davis rd to explore the beautiful and historic towns of Glen Alice and Glen Davis.
Generally head west, this will eventually get you to Bylong Valley Way which will take you right into Rylstone and on to Kandos after 7kms. Just before Rylstone, on Bylong Valley Way, you will go past the beautiful Ferntree Gully.
